Artist Of The Week: Tired Pony

You might not have heard of Tired Pony before, but you’ll recognise some of its members. Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, R.E.M‘s Peter Buck and honorary member Scott McCaughey and Belle and Sebastian drummer Richard Colburn are just a few of the supergroup. However, despite the impressive line-up, they’ve remained in relative obscurity – despite One Direction‘s Harry Styles calling himself a fan.

Their admirers may wonder why the band haven’t received the same attention as the musician’s ‘day jobs’, but we’re quietly grateful that they’re still a secret. Tell your friends about Tired Pony, but don’t tell too many. We still want to get tickets to their tours – and they only play one UK show per album cycle, and the next is this Saturday (14/09) at The Barbican in London.
