Local Band Spotlight: Departure From Normal To Tour America

dfn

Regular Alt Scribe readers may remember an interview with young Brighton band Departure From Normal. Despite not having gigged much farther than Sussex, the quartet boasted of having “a big following in America”. We dismissed it as a delusion of grandeur, but there might be some weight to their words as they’ve just revealed plans to tour the US – well, its educational sites anyway.

They’ve been announced to appear at several Florida schools including Southeast, Bayshore, Palmetto and Manatee High School and have also promised “an amazing support slot” to be revealed soon. After that, they’ll return home to headline Concorde 2 once again.

Perhaps their dream of an American fan base isn’t as far-fetched as it first seems. We’re not sure how big their following is in Brazil and beyond though…
