Artist Of The Week: Crowns

crowns-band-image

Comparisons are an annoying inevitably in music. Many emerging artists have been cursed by being “The New Beatles” (sorry to all bands from Liverpool) or “The 21st Century Madonna” (we see you as an individual, Gaga – don’t worry).  Crowns have been constantly compared to others since their emergence too – but not in the usual way. Crowns are often likened to the sound of fisherman, or pirates and you’ll know why when you listen. They describe their genre as “Fish Punk” which is great, but we wish they’d gone with ‘Finding Emo’.

Their latest sea-shanty single release is a double-A side of ‘My London’ and ‘Full Swing’, out today.
