New Music Monday: LAYLA and We The Wild

Today brings two exciting new releases by two talented up and coming artists from Britain – both linked by Ant West.

We The Wild
The duo of We The Wild are not new to the music industry as both are former members of rock band Futures. Ant West and Casey Roarty have moved on to a more electronic genre with this new project but they’re sounding just fine – if not better. ‘Body Electric (Blue)’ is their second music video release and it certainly doesn’t lacks artistic creativity. We almost cracked up on the unexpected Blue (as in the boyband) reference at the end.

We haven’t heard much about LAYLA (formally known as Jose Vanders) since her ‘New Year’ song in 2012 blew the minds many who were hungry to find a unique sound and voice in today’s mass-produced market. Thanks to Ant West‘s work on the production and mixing of ‘Yellow Circles’, it has similarities to We The Wild yet it still remains true to LAYLA’s image – both musically and visually.

Dóra Udvardi
Dora covers the events of the Hungarian music scene – or wherever she's actually living – over at Alt Scribe. She gained interest in writing about music when she created her first blog on Buzznet in 2011. Since then she became a featured blogger on the site, where she shares about fragments of her life, travels and music experiences. She's the person to go to if you want to know about actual music events. CURRENTLY LISTENING TO: All Time Low, The Carbonfools and The Kooks. SPECIALIST SUBJECT: The Hungarian music scene
